Another favorite thing........

Today's favorite finds me highlighing the Community Food Co-op of Utah.

My first introduction to the Community Food Co-op of Utah was through a newspaper article.  Hmmm.... fresh quality food, local vendors, and cheaper prices, it all sounded intriging.  So I cut our the article and put it in my "things to do" pile.

I would re-read the article. I would ponder.  The article sat in the pile for a few months. And then I tried it out! Oh!! Why did I wait so long?? The program is perfect for our family.  Some of the other co-ops I read about seemed to only offer massive amount of food and I worried much would go to waste. I like that we can order a small amount or big on individual items.

I love the fresh fruit and vegetables.  They are always a delight, especially in the winter.  We have also enjoyed the meat, bread, honey and last time I ordered I got natural peanut buuter that has become a new favorite of mine.  The selections are constantly inproving and expanding and I am anxious to see what this next year will bring.
I find myself ordering half the time through the traditional way of an order form and check sent through the mail.  The other half, I  order online.  Their website has improved a lot the last few months and now it is a snap to order quickly and securely.  There are several pick up places in the bigger cities of Utah.  It is mostly available along the Wasatch Front, but it is spreading with pick up places in Heber City, Nephi, Tooele and Harrisville. And for you in Salt Lake City, they have several mobile markets during the month.

Their website is:  https://foodco-op.net/   They can also be found on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Crossroads-Community-Food-Co-op-of-Utah/196614825967?sk=info

For my friends in Northern Utah, I hope you try them out.  The next order needs to be in Friday, May 6th with the delivery of food on May 21st.

These are a few of my favorite things....

I thought I would spend time each day to highlight some of our favorite websites.

Today, I start with Simply Eden Bath and Body.  We met Athena, the proprietess last year at the scenic Ogden Valley Farmer's Market in Northern Utah. We were fellow vendors.  I always liked how her booth smelled, and when it was slow, I would go over to her booth and smell each of the wonderious scents.  I fell in love with the aromas, and bought several bars of goat milk soap to give as birthday and Christmas gifts.  Everyone loved the gifts!

After many, many compliments, I thought I would try a bar myself.  I know, I know, I should have done it earlier, but the elegant soap was for "gifts," not for us.  The one I picked to try was the lemon grass bar.  It smelled heavenly and it made our shower smell divine!  I started using it and liked it right away.  My husband tried it too, and has said he wants the homemade goats milk all the time.

In addition to her online store, she has a delightful blog.  I enjoyed reading about the birth of the baby Nigerian Dwarf Goat! last month  After seeing the pictures, I almost want to get into the soap making buisness just to have these cute kids around! errr, almost...

I do hope you will stop by her shop and try some of her delights.

Taking beautiful and fabulous pictures is still a struggle for me, so I am looking for a community photography class. I think that would help!! Know of any in Northern Utah?

We are still waiting for our tax returns to come.  I did great keeping track of our personal deductions, receipts, etc---but not so good with the business end.  Uggh, it was quite the chore to get it all organized.  Therefore, this year, I am getting a system together to help with the organization.  I will share it with you in a few days.
